Yesterday I was making a lasercut, when the the laser apparently stopped moving. When checking the cut I could see it had just started the task, when it looked as if the laser got stock, and burned the wood, and afterwards the laser had stopped.
Following this, the machine had big problems navigating, especially the Y axis. When I homed the laser at 0/0, made a Frame command, it would move and draw the frame correctly, but then make the position it had moved to, on the Y axis, the new 0. I tried resetting GRBL, updating firmware, turning the machine on/off several times and also using USB instead of BT that seemed to had become somewhat unreliable. In that process I moved my PC forgetting the cable for the USB, which resulted in the USB port on the controlboard being ripped off. So in any case I need a new controlboard.
But my laser module may need replacement aswell. There is no (blue) light, and when starting a test task, there is no laseroutput. Also it keeps making a small continuous clicking from the Z axis motor.
So my questions are; Any idea what could have happend? And when ordering the controlboard, might I aswell just order a new lasermodule? It has only been used for less than a year!? I also bought a new controlboard as the original never worked…
