Help with upgrade Master 7w to E40

Hi,

I’ve been asked to help someone with an upgrade due to a failed laser.

The initial product is a Master 7w with a NEJE Master board ( No version number. )

Upgrade parts are as follows

Air Assist.
NEJE E40
NEJE Laser Module Tester v1.31
NEJE Laser Adapter v1.2

I’ve had a look round and it’s as clear as mud as to how to upgrade this.

I know I can use the Adapter or the module tester to control the laser with its own power supply.

It’s not clear ( because none of the ports are labeled on the master board ) What plugs into what. On the original set up there is a combined cable that controls the limit switch, laser and the y axis motor. there are several empty ports on the board but it’s not clear what any of these do.

I suspect he needs a different motherboard?

Could someone help please?

Thanks

Directly replace the original laser module, connect 4pin cable, and change the power supply to 12V 4-5A

Where do the air assist wires plug into?

Can this board and the wires handle the increased wattage?

At 7 watts it was 0.58 amps.

At 30 watts it is going to be 2.5 amps. That’s a big increase.

I have attached photos.

Cannot use air assist M7 M8 port because the motherboard has no port, can be used, support 12V 5A

So does he need a different motherboard for the air assist to work?

Yes, if you want to use M7 M8 ports, you need to change the motherboard
