Cutting vinyl records - yes or no?

Dear Neje team,

I have a Neje Max 3 v 2, with E80 module and I am satisfied with it for my projects including wood engraving and cutting. I have a question about using other materials, specifically vinyl. I want to do some projects with old vinyl records, but I have been reading that cutting vinyl is bad for my machine because it produces chlorine fumes that an damage the metal parts - is this true?

On the other hand, I see that people do it regularly, and my laser is enclosed in a ventilated box with a powerful inline ventilator (280m3/h). Do you think that cutting old vinyl records is ok with my setup, or is it something I shouldn’t do?

Best regards

Cutting should be no problem, but exhaust needs to be done well
