$33 laser frequency

Hello,
Is there any chance you will implement the $33 that is available in the laserGRBL v1.1 system?
That would give users the control over laser PWM frequency.
for those that don’t wish to change it, it is no big deal.
Apparently there are some advantages to altering it. Which would surely add value to your machines, giving them an advantage over others.
I am using the older (limit switched) max 3/4 board.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, using an adjustable laser PWM frequency is a good idea, I added this content to the list with pending development, thank you!

Hi Jack,

Has there been an progress on this one?

Peter

Hi, hello, we’ve implemented this feature. We’re testing the firmware, but there hasn’t been a push update yet. I’m sending you the test firmware. The frequency setting is $45. You can check the instructions here

This is firmware dowload

Thanks for that.

The frequency is set on $45 ? (not $33) Or is that $45=1 (on), $45=0 (off)

Is it in the preset style 0=60Hz, 1=120Hz, 2=250Hz, 3=500Hz, 4=1kHz, 5=1.5kHz, 6=3kHz, 7=4.5kHz, 8=6kHz, 9=8kHz, 10=10kHz, 11=15kHz, 12=30kHz, 13=45kHz, 14=60kHz, 15=80kHz

Or in the $45=xxxxx Hz… If so, what is the range? i.e. 100Hz to 10,000Hz

The GRBL link you posted, is just the generic list, no details on this yet unreleased feature.

Sorry, I didn’t update the English translation before, but I have updated it now

$45 Set Laser PWM Frequency

Unit: Hz
Description: Sets the PWM frequency driving the laser. The factory default is 1kHz. For high-speed motion, a setting of 10kHz is recommended.
The setting range supports 20Hz - 20kHz.
Note: Changing the frequency may affect laser focus brightness. You may need to reset the $40 value (laser focus brightness).

Thank you!!

that is great…

I see you have also added a temperature ($46), for the over temp alarm/pause. What is the default temperature to run on an E80 module for over temperature? And what is the possible range?

Thanks,

Peter

It is recommended to keep the default temperature at 50 degrees Celsius

Thank you!
