I am 70 and worked both in science doing computational research and as a programmer of various machines. One was a CO2 laser for stripping paint from helicopter rotor blades. The laser was the size of 2 upright pianos and the firing logic visually recognized when it reached the composite structure so the laser would not fire. 2 Mega watts in 2 micro seconds on 1 cm sq at 200 Hz. The paint exploded under the laser and each pulse sounded like a pistol. So, I hope it is fun playing with this little one!
